2 Plant City Men Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver, 1 Dead

PLANT CITY, Fla. – Two Plant City men were struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol. One of the victims has died.

According to troopers, around 3:13 am on Saturday, a car was traveling eastbound on US-92, west of Charlie Taylor Road, as two pedestrians walked northbound across the highway.

Investigators say the two men, ages 40 and 28, both from Plant City, walked into the path of the vehicle.

The vehicle struck both pedestrians resulting in fatal injuries to the 40-year-old man and serious injuries to the other.

Following the crash, described as a dark-colored sedan, the vehicle fled eastbound on US-92.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call *FHP or **TIPS.
