POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old Tampa man was killed in a single vehicular on Friday night in Polk County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:35 PM, when the man exited onto the Polk Parkway from I-4 Westbound and failed to negotiate the exit ramp’s right curve.
Troopers say the man’s SUV departed the roadway and entered the ramp’s west shoulder, overturned multiple times, then caught fire.
The man was transported to a local hospital but last died from injuries sustained in the crash.
FHP investigators say the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
