26-Year-Old St. Pete Man Dies After Crashing Motorcycle In Front Of Church Overnight

ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 26-year-old man has died from injuries suffered in an overnight motorcycle crash in St. Petersburg.

According to police, around 11:00 p.m. Friday, a 2009 Honda motorcycle, driven by a 26-year-old St. Peterburg man, was westbound on 38th Avenue North in the curb lane at a high rate of speed. 

Police say, at the intersection of 45th Street North, the motorcycle went down onto its right side and struck a wooden sign in front of Clearview Church. No other vehicle was involved, according to investigators.

The man was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition and pronounced dead shortly after arriving. This case is still under investigation, police say.
