27-Year-Old Zephyrhills Woman Killed After Colliding With a Dump Truck

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A 27-year-old Zephyrhills woman was killed early Thursday morning in a collision crash in Wesley Chapel.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling westbound in the inside lane of SR-56 approaching the intersection of Oakwood Preserve Drive.  

A dump truck was traveling eastbound in the outside lane of SR-56 approaching Oakwood Preserve Drive. 

Troopers say the woman lost control of her car and entered the median, rotated, and then entered the eastbound outside lane of SR-56. 

The front and right side of her car collided with the front and left side of the dump truck, rotated, and stopped in the median.

Investigators say the dump truck departed the roadway, entered the south shoulder, and collided with a ditch parallel to the roadway. 

The woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
