51-Year-Old St. Pete Man Killed on His Bicycle, 54th Ave North

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Pete man was killed while riding his bicycle in St. Pete today around 12:15 PM, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was traveling northbound on a bicycle, across 54th Avenue North and entered the path of car. The driver of the car, a 65-year-old man from Stratford, CT., veered to the right to avoid a collision with the bicycle unsuccessfully.

The St. Pete man was transported to a local hospital but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
