52-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed Crossing Gulf Blvd. In Treasure Island

TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. – Deputies assigned to Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a fatal vehicle vs pedestrian crash in Treasure Island.

According to police, the crash happened around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, in front the Penthouse Beach Club located at 10182 Gulf Boulevard.

According to investigators, 52-year-old Christopher Grazer was traveling southbound on Gulf Boulevard in the curb lane. The pedestrian, 52-year-old Daniel Wells was crossing Gulf Boulevard from east to west, not in a designated crosswalk, when he was struck with the front passenger side of a 2006 Dodge Caravan.

Wells suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he died of injuries suffered in the crashed.

Investigators say Grazer remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in this case, according to police.
