PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The DUI Wolf Pack operation that ran 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, and continued until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023, resulted in 30 DUI arrests.
The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.
The Wolf Pack aims to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

The DUI Wolf Pack is dedicated to the memory of Pete Sznerch and Alicia Sznerch.
On December 16, 2000, the Sznerch family (Pete, Cathleen, Alicia, and Nicholas) were driving from North Carolina to Orlando to attend a memorial service for a relative.
While driving through Orlando, their vehicle was struck by a drunk driver. Per a witness at the scene, the Sznerch family’s vehicle flipped approximately 12-16 times.
All occupants of the Sznerch’s vehicle were ejected except for Pete. Pete was pronounced deceased on scene, and Alicia succumbed to her injuries later at the hospital at the young age of thirteen.
Pete Sznerch was a loving father and served his community as a Firefighter in Chapel Hill, as well as here locally, in Pinellas Park. Pete’s wife, Cathleen, and son, Nicholas survived the crash.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Nicholas also serves his community as he is currently a Corporal with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in the Department of Detention and Corrections.
