HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 53-year-old Wesley Chapel Woman was killed Monday night in a Hernando County crash that happened just after 9:00 PM.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a car and an SUV, were both traveling eastbound on Powell Road.
Troopers say the car completed a wide U-Turn, and entered the path of the SUV. The SUV, driven by a 49-year-old Weeki Wachee man, collided into the side of the car.
The 53-year-old Wesley Chapel woman, a passenger in the car, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
A 1-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, both passengers in the car and from Wesley Chapel, suffered injuries in the crash. The driver of the car, a 33-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel, sustained no injuries.
Troopers say the Weeki Wachee man was arrested at the scene for DUI.
