SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 58-year-old Lake Panasoffkee man has dies after a crash that happened around 5:40 pm on Saturday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a van southbound on CR-475, north of CR-532W, when he suffered a medical emergency. Troopers say the van entered the east shoulder, corrected back across the roadway, and traveled onto the west shoulder.
Once on the west shoulder, the van collided with a series of trees adjacent to the highway before coming to a stop.
The man was transported to a local hospital, but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
