PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – You’ll notice several projects in the works driving along U.S. Highway 19 in Pasco County.
The busy corridor is undergoing a much-needed facelift – including many major development and construction projects that will reshape the West Market Area for years to come!
“It’s exciting to see changes coming to this area, and we’re thrilled public and private investors are working together to bring improvements to western Pasco County,” says Commissioner Kathryn Starkey. “As our population grows, it’s important to make sure areas like this corridor keep up.”

Major projects coming to U.S. 19 include:
- Holiday Square Property at Flora Avenue
- A derelict shopping center is transforming into a modern, 355-apartment unit.
- Universal Plaza Mall at Moog Road
- Public/private partnership negotiations underway to demolish blighted commercial structures, and redevelop the property as a vertically integrated, mixed-use project.
- AmSkills Redevelopment at Darlington Road
- Advanced manufacturing and robotic skills center that will provide our local workforce access to a higher-paying career path with certifications.
- Gulf View Square Mall at Embassy Boulevard
- The empty Sears location will be transformed into apartment living and the remaining mall will be remarketed toward improved community retail options.
“Pasco County has numerous programs to help stimulate significant private investment and revitalization to the corridor,” says Office of Economic Growth Director David Engel. “Our office helps with redevelopment loans, commercial landscaping grants, small business capital loans, and locally owned small business mobility fee reductions, just to name a few.”
