TAMPA Fla. – If you were planning on heading to Ft. Lauderdale Beach for the 4th of July weekend, not so fast.

Broward County has announced that it will close the beaches do to COVID-19 spikes for the July 4th weekend, starting July 3rd. The press conference can be seen below.
Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases, Mayor @DeanTrantalis announces that Fort Lauderdale Beach will be closed July 3-5 for the safety and protection of the public. Beach restaurants and businesses will remain open. pic.twitter.com/doRjjQh0sl
