Give Your Thoughts on Downtown Tampa’s Future

TAMPA, Fla. – At Downtown Tampa’s Rock the Park concert series, you expect pop music, but you don’t expect popsicles, cake pops, soda pop, and popcorn—all in a pop-up experience that will be gone before sunrise.

Rock the Park on June 1st will be the first stop for “What’s Pop-In?”. Created by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, What’s Pop-In? is made from a half-size shipping container and will spend a week moving through Downtown Tampa’s unique neighborhoods, relocating each night.

When people “pop in” for a free “popped” treat, they can take an optional survey to tell the Tampa Downtown Partnership what they want to see next in their community, from events to improvements to the character of their neighborhood.

Partnership staff will also be there, in person, to have an open dialogue.

“Our neighborhoods have great ideas, and we want to make sure those voices are heard,” said Tampa Downtown Partnership Interim President Shaun Drinkard. “What’s Pop-In? lets us go right out to you and get feedback. Then we’ll use that feedback as we create our work plans.” The Partnership will present its work plans during community meetings in July.
