HCFES arrived on scene within 3 minutes and found heavy smoke and fire from the home. Based on the fire conditions crews initiated a fire attack from the exterior.  Being a seasonal home, the owners of the home live out of the State. There was nobody home at the time of the fire.

The fire was completely under control at 3:08 a.m. The fire caused extensive damage to the home resulting in a total loss. The cause and origin remain unknown and is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.

HCFES responded with 3 fire engines, 2 ALS medic units, 2 Battalion Chief, 1 Tender and Fire Corps for a total of 15 personnel.

HCFES conducts routine fire risk assessment on your homes and secure power and utilities prior to leaving for extended durations.
