An Alabama man was sentenced to death after being found guilty in the rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl a month after the girl’s mother admitted to selling her daughter to him for $2,500.

On April 12, an Alabama jury found Jeremy Williams guilty of four counts of capital murder in the death of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland in December 2021, according to the Russell County District Attorney.

Williams was found guilty on all charges; capital murder of a child under 14, capital murder during the course of sodomy first, capital murder during the course of kidnapping first, and capital murder during the course of rape first.

Three days later, he was sentenced to death.

“The victim, Kamarie Holland, was five years old on December 13, 2021, when Williams kidnapped her, sexually abused and tortured her and killed her. He previously entered a plea of guilty to human trafficking which was based upon his agreement with the child’s mother, Kristy Siple, to pay her $2,500 in exchange for sexual acts with the child,” said the Russell County District Attorney.

According to multiple reports, jurors were shown videos that Williams took of the abuse.

“What kind of demonic creature are you,” Kamarie’s grandmother stated in a letter to Williams prior to sentencing, according to WTVM. “You should be ashamed for what you did to such an innocent little girl.”

In March, the child’s mother, Kristy Siple, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking. She has not yet been sentenced.

“The DA’s office thanks the jurors for their service, including the three alternates who were not involved in the deliberation process, as this case was very disturbing and difficult for them because of the audio and video evidence of the crimes found on the Defendant’s phone,” said RCDA.
