An Amazon delivery driver assisted deputies in rescuing two people trapped in an overturned vehicle that landed in a Florida canal.

An Amazon delivery driver assisted deputies in rescuing two people trapped in an overturned vehicle that landed in a Florida canal.

While Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dan Whittington was on his way to an unrelated call, he happen to look over and see a partially submerged vehicle upside down in a canal.

The Deputy immediately took action and descended into the canal to rescue the occupants inside the vehicle.

Also on the scene, was an unidentified Amazon driver that went into the canal to assist Deputy Whittington, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after, Deputy Patrick Newman arrived on the scene to assist with the rescue.

Indian River County Fire Rescue also assisted and ultimately transported the women safely to local hospitals.

The two women are recovering with thankfully only minor injuries.
