Amazon Driver Charged With Stealing French Bulldog While Delivering Packages In Spring Hill

SPRING HILL, Fla. – An Amazon driver has been charged with stealing a French Bulldog while delivering packages In Spring Hill.

Investigators say on December 23, deputies with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Copper Hill Drive in Spring Hill to investigate the theft of a French bulldog.

The dog’s owner told deputies she let her French bulldog, Kali, outside around 9:15 a.m. on December 22. and a short time later she noticed Kali had escaped from the home’s fenced-in backyard.

A neighbor told Kali’s owner that he saw Kali walk up to a man driving a white, older model Chevrolet Cruze and the man was a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, who was wearing an Amazon uniform.

He said the man had just delivered a package to an address on Copper Hill Drive.

After briefly interacting with the dog, the witness said the man drove off with the dog following behind the vehicle.

Another neighbor who was driving through the area also witnessed the incident.

She said the man stopped his vehicle on Larkenheath Drive, where she then watched as he picked up the dog and placed it in his backseat before driving off.

Using the information provided by her neighbors, Kali’s owner initially contacted Amazon customer support to report the incident. A representative from Amazon advised her to report the incident to law enforcement.

Kali’s owner provided deputies with a photo and a detailed description of Kali who is a year old and has a retail value of $4,000.

On Jan 16, detectives were able to obtain suspect information on the Amazon driver and identified the man as Reinier Revilla.

Detectives responded to Revilla’s residence in Tampa to interview him regarding the stolen dog.

During the interview, Revilla told detectives he took the dog and that she was still in his possession. Kali was recovered from a nearby residence and returned to her owner later that day.

On Jan 17, detectives obtained a warrant for Revilla’s arrest on a charge of Grand Theft.

Revilla was then contacted by phone and informed about his active arrest warrant. Revilla advised he would make arrangements to turn himself in at the Hillsborough County jail.

On Jan 19, Revilla turned himself in at the Hillsborough County jail, where he was later released after posting a $5,000 bond.
