RIVERVIEW, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Apollo Beach man for a murder in Riverview earlier this month.
Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the suspect in the May 10, 2023, fatal shooting case in Riverview as Tyler Harnage, 18, of Apollo Beach.
On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wawa at the corner of US Hwy 301 and Gibsonton Drive after a report of shots fired.

Once on scene, HCSO deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, a warrant was obtained for Harnage for 3rd Degree Murder Firearm-Great Bodily Harm/Death.
Accompanied by his attorney, Tyler Harnage turned himself into Orient Road Jail without incident on Tuesday.
“I commend the hard work of the detectives who worked tirelessly to solve the case and find the suspect responsible for not only the death of another individual but putting the lives of others in danger through his careless and violent ways,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “He did the right thing in turning himself in to face the consequences of his actions.”
This case remains active and ongoing.
