According to Bloomberg and the New York Times, Joe Biden is set to announce close advisor, Antony Blinken will join his cabinet as the next secretary of state on Tuesday.
Jake Sullivan, formerly one of Hillary Clinton’s aides, is also likely to be named national security adviser, Bloomberg also reported. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who served as the top U.S. diplomat overseeing African affairs in the Obama administration, will likely be named UN ambassador, NBC News confirmed on Monday.
While the transition is moving forward for the Biden team, President Trump insists on his ticket still winning. President Trump tweeted;
“In certain swing states, there were more votes than people who voted, and in big numbers. Does that not really matter? Stopping Poll Watchers, voting for unsuspecting people, fake ballots and so much more. Such egregious conduct. We will win!”
President Trump’s legal team has filed an appeal Sunday, in Pennsylvania, after a federal judge pulled the wall down in efforts to block the certification of the election results in Pennsylvania.
Michigan and Pennsylvania are both expected to certify their election results on Monday, which would solidly the Biden win for the US Presidency.
On Saturday, the Trump camp, asked for a recount in Georgia, after the historic audit performed showed Biden as the winner.
