TAMPA, Fla. – Boom by the Bay returns today with a Hard Rock takeover at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park in Tampa.

In addition to fireworks, attendees can enjoy food trucks, live music, an apple pie eating contest, family-friendly activities, and more. 

BOOM BY THE BAY EVENTS

3:00 PM: Pickleball Tournament Begins
One of the new additions to this year’s event is a Pickleball Tournament, hosted by Tampa Pickleball Crew. Registration is now full for participants, but fans are welcome to watch the competition!

Additionally, there will be open courts for beginning picklers to experience the sport through Open Play.

4:00 PM: Event Begins, Food Trucks Start Serving & Kid Zone Opens
The food trucks on site include everything from BBQ to Asian Fusion. The Kid Zone features bounce houses, face painting, sack races, corn hole and bubble artists.

There will also be a Sensory Relief Zone on site offering reduced sound and visual distractions

6:30 PM: Apple Pie Eating Competition

The apple pie eating competition kicks off at 6:30 p.m. There will be three heats of participants who will compete to see who can take down the most pie. Hungry? Register for free before the race begins. Winners will take home Busch Gardens tickets for the whole family, as well as bragging rights.

7:30 PM: Concert headliner, Kenzie Wheeler, takes stage

Headlining this year’s live entertainment at Boom by the Bay is local country star and season 20 contestant on The Voice, Kenzie Wheeler. 

DUSK (AROUND 9:00 PM): Boom By The Bay Fireworks Show

Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park will be the only location for the Boom by the Bay, Powered by TECO, firework display this year.

Please note: there will be no fireworks at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the Tampa Convention Center, Armature Works, or Sparkman Wharf on Saturday, July 1st.
