Brooksville Homeowner Hospitalized Following Overnight House Fire

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – One person was transported and treated after an early morning fire in Brooksville Sunday.

According to officials, just after 2:30 am, Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire on the 200 block of Monroe Ave in Masaryktown.

Firefighters arrived to find a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. All occupants were confirmed to have exited the home; however, one occupant was transported to a local hospital resulting from smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes of arriving on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with preliminary cause believed to be electrical in nature.

The home was a total loss, and the Red Cross will be assisting the occupants. No injuries to responders were reported.
