Brooksville Man Arrested On CSAM Charges

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 46, of Brooksville, was arrested following an investigation by Hernando County Sheriff’s detectives into the possession of child pornography.

He faces multiple felony charges, including six counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device.

The investigation began after detectives received information regarding the possession of child pornography. Through their efforts, investigators were able to trace the IP address associated with a social media account containing Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) to a residence located at 6375 Goodway Drive.

Based on probable cause, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence on June 5, 2025. Detectives made contact with John Fitzgerald Kennedy, who resides at the address. During questioning, Kennedy confirmed he was the owner of the phone number linked to the social media account in question.

A subsequent search of Kennedy’s phone uncovered several additional files containing CSAM.

Kennedy was taken into custody and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.

Several electronic devices were seized from the residence and are undergoing digital forensic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
