Brooksville Man Dies After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Tree On Powell Road

A 68-year-old Brooksville man has died after a crash that happened around 4:30 am on Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A 68-year-old Brooksville man has died after a crash that happened around 4:30 am on Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to troopers, the Brooksville man was traveling westbound on CR-572 (Powell Road), east of Crum Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

Troopers say the man’s pickup truck departed the roadway, entered the north shoulder, and collided with a mailbox.

The pickup then traveled back across the roadway, entered the south shoulder, and struck a tree, according to FHP.

The man was transported to an area hospital but later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
