Carriage Horse Killed and Two Men Injured in Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – On Wednesday around 9:20 PM, a horse-drawn carriage accident, killed a horse and seriously injured two people in Pasco County.

Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Bowman Road near Milestone Drive at about 9:20 p.m.

The carriage was heading west on Bowman Road with no tail lights on, and was rear-ended by a 2010 Ford Focus.

The impact sent the carriage into the north shoulder of the roadway. The horse died at the scene.

Both the carriage operator, 26, and his passenger, 39, are from Spring Hill, and suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to an area hospital.

The carriage operator was cited for having no tail lights on the carriage according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
