Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue Respond to Large Duplex Condo Fire

BRADENTON, Fla. – At 6:10 pm on Friday, Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue units responded to a report of a house fire at 3503 Avenida Madera. The first units were on scene less than four minutes later and found a large duplex style condominium with heavy smoke and fire coming from the side of the house and the roof.

The homeowner was on the scene and told fire units that no one was in either side of the house.  Crews made an aggressive attack and the fire was brought under control in approximately ten minutes.  A total of 4 engines, 1 ladder truck, one ambulance, one Fire Inspector, and two Chief Officers responded to this fire.

There was extensive fire and smoke damage to one side of the duplex totaling approximately $125,000.  The other side of the house suffered no damage.

There were no injuries to civilians or fire service personnel.
