Clearwater Celebrates Earth Month With Many Environmental Events

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The city of Clearwater is celebrating Earth Month this April by hosting a range of environmental and sustainability activities to honor our shared home.

“The health and wellbeing of our residents along with environmental and economic prosperity is Clearwater’s top sustainability and resiliency goals,” said the City of Clearwater.

The city invites the public to take part in celebrating our beautiful planet with the events:

  • April 20, 9 a.m.-noon: Stevenson Creek Cleanup, Stevenson Creek
  • April 22, 4 p.m.: Earth Day at the Library, ages 7-11, Countryside Library
  • April 22, 5-6 p.m.: Moana Celebrates Earth Day, Main Library
  • April 27, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.: Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Giveaway, Public Works Complex
  • April 27, 9-11 a.m.: State Street Park Community Cleanup, 1971 N. Betty Lane
  • April 27, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Shred-a-Thon and Operation Medicine Cabinet Take-Back, Countryside Mall near the Whole Foods parking lot
  • April 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Earth Day at Moccasin Lake, Moccasin Lake Nature Park
  • April 27, noon-2 p.m.: Designer Genes – Sustainability Science Fair, Main Library
  • Earth Month and Beyond: “Check out” seeds from the Seed Library and grow them at home, Countryside Library and East Community Library

Events that already occurred included an Earth Day pressed flower craft at the East Community Library, a Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival beach cleanup, an Earth Day terrarium workshop at the East Community Library, and a paint-poured album bowls workshop at the Countryside Library.
