Clearwater Comic Con Returns, Now Located At Ross Norton Recreation Complex

CLEARWATER, FL. – The Clearwater Public Library System will host their annual Clearwater Comic Con event on Saturday, March 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a new location for 2022, the Ross Norton Recreation Complex, 1426 S. MLK Jr. Ave.

The event is free and there will be fun for the entire family.

Dress as your favorite character and participate in a costume contest. Visit comic artists, attend an informational panel and check out a variety of vendor booths.

Karl Moline

Karl Moline has worked as a professional comic book artist with every major comics publishers for over twenty years. He is best known for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and co-creating Fray with Joss Whedon, but has also worked on titles such as SuperboySupergirlAvengers ArenaAvengers AcademyRogueRoute 666Daredevil 2099LonersSeekers of the WeirdHulk Smash AvengersB.P.R.D., Spiderman Unlimited, and Vampirella amongst others.

He is currently working on a super-secret project with Scout Comics, and he might tell you about it if you ask him. He lives near Tampa, Florida, and likes cats and magic.

Scott Reed

Scott Reed began his career in comics in 1993 on-staff as an inker for Malibu Comics and Marvel Comics. In 1996. he was hired by Dark Horse Comics to provide inks for two mini-series, Godzilla: King of Monsters and a rebooted G.I. Joe series.

As a pioneer in web comics publishing, he wrote and illustrated The Last Odyssey, a dysfunctional sword and sorcery tale, and High Strangeness, an illustrated essay on the UFO phenomenon. Both series were published in weekly serial formats from 1997-2005.

In 2007, he and artist Shane White collaborated on The Overman, a critically acclaimed dystopian noir science fiction mini-series published by Image Comics. In 2010, Reed wrote two mini-series for Marvel Comics, Son of Hulk: Dark Son, and Incredible Hulks: Microverse, which re-introduced several classic Microverse characters into the Marvel Universe. Both series were penciled by Miguel Munera and are part of Marvel’s hit mini-series event, Realm of Kings.

In 2012, Reed wrote, illustrated and published Saga of a Doomed Universe, a subtext-laden 1980’s era homage to the super hero genre and included in Boing-Boing’s “Best Damn Comics of the Year.” From 2016-2018, Reed worked as a colorist for Fierce Comics’ Midwalker series. He is currently writing and illustrating Hark, a six-issue science fiction mini-series from Beyond Forward Comics and distributed by Comixology and IndyPlanet.

This free event is presented by the Clearwater Public Library System and the Clearwater Parks & Recreation Department.
