CLEARWATER, Fla. – Law enforcement officers and first responders in general, see the good, bad, and ugly. Each day is different and unknown what will take place after your shifts roll call meeting.

On Sunday, for some officers in Clearwater, it was escaping horses and a donkey.

The great escape occurred on College Hill Drive Sunday afternoon, and officers and the owner were able to guide the trio back to their home without incident.

“That’s enough horsing around for one day,” said Clearwater PD in a social statement.

On Monday, it was a small wayward gator that picked the wrong place to meander.

Officers were able to wrangle the reptile and keep it safe until a trapper could come to safely relocate it, according to police.

The incident happened at the access road of U.S. 19 near State Road 590, according to police.

“The gator was not in a crosswalk at the time of the capture,” said CPD in a social media post.
