The Biden administration this week convicted and threatened jail time for a pro-life activist who is actually older than doddering President Joe Biden himself.

U.S. Attorney Henry Leventis in Nashville on Wednesday announced that his office had secured four convictions against anti-abortion protesters accused of violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or FACE, Act.

A federal judge – not a jury – returned a guilty verdict for Eva Edl, Eva Zastrow, James Zastrow, and Paul Place for their alleged “blockade” of an abortion clinic in March 2021.

According to Leventis’ press release, the quartet blocked a hallway leading to an abortion clinic, “resulting in no patients accessing the clinic.”

“Police requested that the defendants leave or move multiple times, but after more than two hours, these defendants were arrested.”

However, the press release did not clarify what the accused did during their protest at the Carafem Health Center Clinic in Mt. Juliet, a Nashville suburb.

As the Catholic News Agency reported, “The four activists, along with several other pro-lifers, stood in front of the abortion clinic’s doors while singing Christian hymns and chanting prayers.”

Prosecutors say they now face a maximum of six months in prison, five years of supervised release, and fines of up to $10,000.

One of them, Eva Edl, of South Carolina, is 87 years old.

As the CNA reported, “Edl is a well-known pro-life activist and a survivor of a communist concentration camp who fled Soviet-controlled Eastern Europe.”

The other defendants are in their 20s.

The 30-year-old FACE Act outlaws “violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide reproductive health services.”

As the CNA noted, Biden’s prosecutors charged 11 people just in the Mt Juliet protest.

Yet in the last year, the feds have charged only four people for attacks on churches and crisis pregnancy centers, which are also covered by the FACE Act, even though liberals launched more than 100 attacks against such facilities.

The CNA added that Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy is working to repeal the FACE Act because the law has been “weaponized” by the Biden administration against pro-lifers.
