HERNANDO COUNTY, FL. – A 70-year-old Dade City man was killed in a crash that happened just after 4:00 pm on Saturday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the man was traveling southbound on Burwell Road, in a van, approaching Datura drive, when he suffered a medical emergency.
Investigators say the man lost control of the vehicle, crossed the northbound lanes, entered the shoulder, struck a fence, collided with a tree, and caught fire.
The man was transported by emergency workers, but later died at the hospital.
