Polk County Sheriff Arrests Daytona Beach Man

Daytona Beach Man Arrested In Polk County For Attempted Armed Robbery, Drugs

POLK COUNTY, FL. – On Monday, Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an armed disturbance call at around 9 AM between Alturas and Babson Park.

Deputies say, 25-year old Joseph Romine Jr of Daytona Beach, a convicted felon, was accused of pointing a firearm at another man.

As deputies arrived in the area, they found Romine walking along Lake Buffum Road and detained him.

During their investigation, they learned that Romine had an active warrant for his arrest out of Volusia County for burglary with assault on a person 65 or older.

Investigators say the deputy put his K-9 partner Rocky to work, searching the area where Romine had been walking.

The K-9, Rocky, located a bag hidden in thick brush. Deputies say the bag contained a black revolver, a baggie of methamphetamine, and a meth pipe.

The revolver matched the gun described by the victim. Romine admitted that he threw the bag into the brush so law enforcement wouldn’t find him with it.

Romine was arrested and charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Meth and Drug Paraphernalia.
