When he served in Tallahassee as Florida’s disaster-response chief under Gov. Ron DeSantis, current Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz seemed to be one liberal moderate willing to work with the GOP to get things done for state residents.

Being in Washington among San Francisco Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi and the lefties from “The Squad” has apparently changed all that for Moskowitz.

The Coral Springs Democrat, seemingly willing to overlook both the criminality and the authoritarian impulses of the Biden White House, now has taken on the role of left-wing troll.

The latest example was reported on Friday. The New York Post noted that Moskowitz is leading an effort to rename the Miami Federal Correctional Institution as the Donald J. Trump Federal Correctional Institution.

The Post reported that Moskowitz joined Reps. Gerry Connolly of Virginia and John Garamendi of California to introduce the measure. According to the Post, they filed the bill in response to a GOP bill that would rename Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia for Trump.

“Everyone knows President Trump loves to write his name in gold letters on all his buildings,” Moskowitz said in a statement. “But he’s never had his name on a federal building before and as a public servant I just want to help the former president.”

In his statement, Connolly added, “It is only right that the closest federal prison to Mar-a-Lago should bear his name. I hope our Republican friends will join us in bestowing upon Donald J. Trump the only honor he truly deserves.”

The lawmakers’ alleged joke comes as the Democrats’ multiple politically motivated legal cases against Trump continue to fall apart.

One recent example was reported by the website Conservative Brief on Friday.

Earlier this week, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon rejected Trump’s motion to dismiss special prosecutor Jack Smith’s case alleging Trump mishandled classified materials – charges President Joe Biden may have faced as well until a special prosecutor deemed that Biden’s cognitive decline was so great that a jury would not convict him.

Yet as the website reported, Cannon left the door open to accepting during a trial Trump’s argument that he considered the documents his own property, which is something Smith could not appeal.

The website also noted that some liberals believe Smith is growing increasingly desperate in what is considered the strongest case against Trump that he may seek an appellate court ruling to get Cannon removed from the case.
