PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) have arrested a St. Petersburg man for possession of child pornography.
Detectives began their investigation after receiving information that child pornography was being transmitted via the internet.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as 63-year-old Allen James Wellington.

According to detectives, the images were of children between the ages of two and thirteen years old.
On September 12, 2023, detectives arrested Wellington and charged him with ten counts of possession of child pornography. When detectives interviewed Wellington, he admitted to viewing child pornography.
Wellington was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
The investigation continues.
