Detectives Arrest Safety Harbor Middle School Student Threatening Mass Shooting

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office detectives assigned to the Threat Management Division arrested a Pinellas County Schools student for Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.

Detectives say 14-year-old Amisadai Esparza-Martinez sent a message to another student via Snapchat stating, “I’m shooting school up tomorrow.”

Detectives made contact with Esparza-Martinez, who admitted to sending the message but stated it was a joke. Esparza-Martinez was arrested and charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill or Conduct a Mass Shooting.
