Elon Musk made headlines during a town hall event in Pennsylvania on Sunday, where he expressed concerns about the integrity of U.S. elections and advocated for a return to paper ballots with in-person voting and voter ID requirements.
“A win, in my view, is ensuring that only legal citizens vote,” Musk told the crowd. “If we can achieve that, it would be a significant improvement from where we are today.”
The town hall drew a large crowd, with many eager to hear Musk’s remarks. Throughout the event, Musk emphasized his belief in the vulnerability of electronic voting machines, citing his extensive background in technology and programming.

“I’ve been programming computers since I was nine, and I know how easy it is to make a mistake or hack software,” Musk said, stressing the risks of relying on electronic systems for elections.
Musk, who has recently been active on the campaign trail in support of Donald Trump, warned about the potential dangers of advanced AI interfering with voting systems in the future. “Advanced AI could be incredibly adept at hacking voting machines, especially those connected to the internet,” he noted.
His comments sparked reactions from political figures, including Pennsylvania’s Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro, who has raised concerns about Musk’s recent political activities, including a petition tied to constitutional rights.
