Hurricane Idalia made landfall about 7:45 a.m. near Taylor County's Keaton Beach as an "extremely dangerous" Category 3 storm, the National Hurricane Center said.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - Pasco County Emergency Management wants to alert storm victims that Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) workers are canvassing West Pasco County neighborhoods to encourage those affected by Hurricane Idalia to sign up for federal assistance.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Emergency Management wants to alert storm victims that Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) workers are canvassing West Pasco County neighborhoods to encourage those affected by Hurricane Idalia to sign up for federal assistance.

FEMA staff are wearing official identification and will provide contact information for verification.

There is no fee to apply for or to receive disaster assistance from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration or the State of Florida.
