A group of Democratic lawmakers sent letters to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday asking officials to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to fly domestically.

Florida COVID-19 Hospitalizations Below 1,400

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services posted data Monday that showed the number of Florida hospital inpatients with COVID-19 has continued to drop.

The data showed 1,395 inpatients with COVID-19, down from 1,561 a week earlier. It also showed that 182 people with COVID-19 were in intensive-care units, down from 234 a week earlier.

Florida has seen steadily falling hospitalization numbers after the highly contagious omicron variant of the coronavirus caused a massive surge in cases and hospitalizations in December and January.
