CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) will host a Flu Clinic Saturday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Central Citrus Community Center, located at 2804 W. Marc Knighton, Lecanto, FL.

No-cost flu shots will be available, while supplies last, to adults and children 6 months and older.  No appointment is necessary, and shots will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yearly flu shots are recommended for anyone older than 6 months of age, but are especially important for older adults, pregnant women, young children, and people with underlying health conditions.  As flu strains change each season, it is important for individuals to be vaccinated again even if they received a vaccine last year.

It takes approximately two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop protection against the flu.

In addition to flu shots, no-cost Moderna COVID-19 Bivalent Boosters will be available, for ages 18 and above, while supplies last.  No other COVID vaccines will be offered during the clinic.
