More evidence of the weird times we live in.
Democrats early on Saturday cheered the passage of a $61 billion military aid package for Ukraine by waving Ukraine’s flags on the House floor.
In response, Florida Rep. Kat Cammack said she would file a bill to prohibit such displays in the future.
On X Saturday afternoon, the Gainesville Republican posted, “Watching American representatives pass out & wave Ukrainian flags in the United States House of Representatives chamber infuriated me.”

“As we speak, my team is drafting legislation that will prohibit the display of foreign nations’ flags on the House floor. If there is one room in our country that should only have the American flag present, it is this room.”
Kammack included 14 American flags in her post and called on her 66,000 followers to tag other members of Congress to co-sponsor her bill.
As Breitbart News noted, Cammack was not the only one outraged by the stomach-churning display by lawmakers more loyal to a foreign power than to the country they represent.
While Democrats have badgered Republicans to support aid for Ukraine, they have steadfastly resisted efforts to improve security at America’s southern border.

House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson offered a milquetoast criticism of the Democrats’ display.
“These are not normal times here in the House or around the world as we all know,” Johnson told reporters after the vote. “And, we saw a disturbance here on the House floor just a bit ago. I just want to say simply what I think most people around the country understand and agree, we should only wave one flag on the House floor. And I think we know which flag that is.”
Yet other Republicans were not as accepting.
According to Breitbart News, GOP Reps. Anna Paulina Luna and Matt Gaetz, both of Florida, and Eric Burlison of Missouri, bashed Democrats for cheerleading Ukraine.

“Put those damn flags away. It is a disgrace to display any other flag than the American flag in the House Chamber!” Luna posted on X.
“Democrats waving Ukrainian flags on the House floor tells you everything you need to know about their priorities,” Burlison added on X. “Ukraine first, America last.”
As the Tampa Free Press reported, Gaetz also denounced Democrats.
“BREAKING: House Democrats finally found a nation’s flag they believe is worth waiving,” Gaetz on X. “You can see the disgust on my face!”
Gatez was replying to a post by GOP Rep. Clay Higgins that showed the reaction following the vote.
