Florida Highway Patrol Needs Your Help Identifying Pinellas County Hit-And-Run Suspect

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla - Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are seeking the public's help after a pickup truck slams into a bicyclist and flees the scene.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are seeking the public’s help after a pickup truck slams into a bicyclist and flees the scene.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, on May 19, 2023, at 10:28 AM, a bicyclist named Kenny Gamble, 40, was traveling south across 54th Avenue North at 43rd Street North when a blue Dodge Ram 1500 pickup departed a Texaco Gas Station. 

The truck turned west onto 54th Avenue North and collided with Gamble, then fled the scene.

The incident was captured on security video, as well as an image of the possible suspect driver. 

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

The collision caused serious head and spinal injuries to Gamble who continues to recover at his St. Petersburg home. 

The crash also destroyed his bicycle, his sole form of transportation.

With the bicycle delivered today by FHP Troopers, Kenny Gamble was overwhelmed with thanks for the Tarpon Springs based bike shop’s support and assistance.    

Unable to work or acquire another bicycle, a FHP Victim Advocate worked to help locate a donor for a replacement. 

Upon learning of Gamble’s circumstances, Eddie Mullally of Neptune Cyclery immediately offered to assist and provided a brand new bicycle. 

With the bicycle delivered today by FHP Troopers, Gamble was overwhelmed with thanks for the Tarpon Springs based bike shop’s support and assistance.
