A 43-year-old Florida man was arrested Wednesday after pulling into a store to panhandle but forgot his stolen truck when he left.

Keith Bryant Taylor, 43, was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was called to a construction supply store in Key Largo at approximately 8:52 a.m. due to a man panhandling.

Witnesses told deputies that the man showed up in a white 2004 Dodge pickup truck, began asking customers for money, and then left the scene on foot, leaving the truck at the store.

The suspect, identified as Taylor, was found walking on U.S. 1 shortly thereafter. The truck was reported stolen out of Key West.

Taylor was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a no bond status.
