A 33-year-old Florida man has been arrested after causing a scene at a Waffle House location early Wednesday morning and biting a deputy.

According to investigators, at around 4 am Wednesday, Walton County Sheriff’s Office was called to Waffle House in Miramar Beach about an individual causing a disturbance in the restaurant.

Witnesses said the individual was frantically running around, stating he’d ‘been shot’ and acting erratically. When deputies arrived, they identified the subject as Victor Williams, 33.

“Immediately, it was clear Williams had not been shot and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. When deputies tried to place Williams into custody, he struck a deputy and bit another on the leg,” said WCSO.

Even when handcuffed, Williams continued to be highly resistant and continued to fight with deputies, positioning his body in such a way so he would not be placed into the patrol car, deputies say.

After numerous attempts to place Williams in the back of the vehicle, a drive stun was used to “gain compliance.”

However, deputies say the attempt was ineffective. During repeated attempts to get Williams to comply, he struck another deputy in the face with his knee.

Williams was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Walton County Jail after he was checked out by South Walton Fire District EMS personnel. He is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, and disorderly conduct.
