A Florida man was arrested for meth on Thursday following a traffic stop while on his golf cart.
Investigators say, just after 11:30 a.m., on Thursday deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office witnessed a male driving a golf cart on a county-maintained roadway that wasn’t street legal.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver, identified as Andrew Jacob Culp.
According to deputies they asked Culp to produce a driver’s license for a brief check but stated he lost his wallet and had not gotten a replacement license.
Deputies asked Culp to exit the golf cart. Permission was granted by Culp for a pat-down search which resulted in the discovery of a pocket knife and a clear plastic bag with what appeared to be methamphetamine.
A field test of the substance inside the bag resulted in a positive result for methamphetamine.
Culp was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.
