A Florida man has been charged with first-degree murder after a man was discovered dead in a garage.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A Florida man has been charged with first-degree murder after a man was discovered dead in a garage.

According to police, Jeffery Tillman, 38, was hired by the owner of the house, Deno Conley, 65, at 3410 38th St. N. to work on some renovations.

Investigators say that Deno Conley was a longtime acquaintance of Tillman.

According to investigators, when Conley went to the house to see Tillman, Tillman stabbed him.

On Tuesday at 1:20 pm, police responded to a call about a suspicious circumstance at the house and discovered Conley deceased in the garage.

Investigators learned that Tillman had contacts in Clearwater and alerted Clearwater Police. Clearwater Police located Tillman at 6:41 p.m. on Tuesday and arrested him.

Tillman was charged with 1st-degree murder and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. At this point, police have not released a motive for this murder.
