An inmate in a Florida jail has been charged with threatening to kill three people, including his defense attorney and a judge.

Jerome Sanders, 44, of Miami, Florida, has been charged with threatening to kill a Florida Keys judge, his defense attorney, and a state prosecutor.

Sanders wrote that he was going to kill all three in a letter addressed to the judge and written by Sanders on Nov. 2, 2023, from the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island, where he remained Thursday on no bond allowed regarding previous drug-related charges.

“I will not tolerate threats made against any member of the criminal justice community,” said Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “This suspect is exactly where he belongs — in jail.
