A Florida man is in custody on a federal arrest warrant for conspiracy to traffic Fentanyl in a conspiracy that stretched from New York to Florida.
This arrest is related to a Volusia Sheriff’s Office investigation that started earlier this year.
In February, the Deltona Detectives Unit, Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and SWAT executed a search warrant at 1952 English Drive, Deltona, regarding a car theft ring reaching from New York to Miami.
Members of the ring were stealing expensive vehicles using stolen identities and fake documents. The suspects financed high-end vehicles from legitimate dealerships and private rental agencies.
The vehicles would then be stripped of their VINs, given a fraudulent VIN, and sold or rented to unsuspecting individuals.

Electronic communications revealed the group was also responsible for drug trafficking.
Two suspects had pending indictments from the DEA in New York for trafficking large quantities of fentanyl.
Evidence seized from the residence included a 2021 Mercedes GLE 350, a 2017 Maserati Ghibli, a 2021 BMW M4, a Yamaha ATV with a filed-off VIN, and forged vehicle documents.
Also recovered was 35.75g of powdered Fentanyl, 10 Fentanyl pills (8.1g), 54 Alprazolam pills (17g), 45 Suboxone strips (53.95g), 423.4g marijuana, and $35,600 in cash.
