A Florida man who stole six electric toothbrushes from Walgreens was arrested and booked on Monday.

A Florida man who stole six electric toothbrushes from Walgreens was arrested and booked on Monday.

Tracy Jay Mofield, 37, of Islamorada, was charged with larceny, according to investigators.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walgreens at 53rd Street at approximately 10:39 a.m., where employees and witnesses stated a man, later identified as Mofield, walked out of the store with the items without paying.

They added he was in a white Lexus, according to deputies.

The Lexus was located near Mile Marker 57.

Mofield sped away, but the Sheriff’s Office did not pursue him for safety reasons.

The vehicle was spotted again near Mile Marker 73, where it stopped. Mofield admitted to stealing the items and stated he threw them off the Long Key Bridge.

Mofield was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a no-bond status.
