The Florida Lottery announced Wednesday that Ismael Martinez Gutierrez, a 37-year-old resident of North Lauderdale, has claimed a $1 million prize from the “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” Scratch-Off game.

Martinez Gutierrez chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.00.

According to lottery officials, he purchased his winning ticket from Aunt Molly’s at 1691 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The “$1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR” is a $50 Scratch-Off game that offers two top prizes of $1 million a year for life. The game also features a staggering 234 prizes of $1 million and boasts over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes. The overall odds of winning in this game are 1-in-4.5.

Scratch-Off games play a significant role in the Florida Lottery’s portfolio, accounting for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024.
