A Florida teacher was arrested in connection with a shooting at a wedding in Franklin, Tennessee, over the weekend.
According to investigators, Franklin officers responded to an active shooter call Saturday night at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Marriott of Cool Springs.
Upon arrival, several officers began rendering aid to two victims. The shooter had fled the scene.
Officers immediately saturated the area. The suspect was located on foot in a nearby subdivision. There was no further danger to the public.

The suspect, Cody Wiggins, 29, an English teacher at West Florida High School, was identified as the shooter.
“In compliance with Florida law and the Escambia County School District’s contractual provisions, the employee will be immediately suspended,” said Escambia County Public Schools Superintendent Keith Leonard. “We will continue to work with law enforcement as the case is brought to a culmination.”
Police say Wiggins is the husband and brother-in-law of the two victims. They had all been in Franklin attending a wedding, police say.
A Franklin detective obtained warrants for two counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault aggravated domestic assault, and tampering with evidence. Wiggins is in the Williamson County Jail.
The weapon was a semi-automatic handgun, police say.
The victims were transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt Hospital. An update on their condition will be released when available.
