A Florida woman is in jail facing a dozen felony charges an investigation found she broke into a vehicle and stole credit cards that she used to pay for taxi rides and other purchases.

Cindy Mary Kolanovic, 45, a convicted felon, faces a slew of charges including burglary, grand theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, fraudulent use of identification, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and possession of fentanyl.

“This arrest is the result of proactive police and investigative work,” Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “If you commit a crime in Collier County our deputies will find you and arrest you.”

Detectives said Kolanovic broke into a locked 2018 Honda Accord in Golden Gate sometime during the night of Oct. 15-16. Kolanovic removed multiple items from the vehicle including the victim’s Coach purses and wallets with credit cards inside.

Kolanovic used the credit cards to make purchases at local convenience stores and to pay for multiple taxi rides.

Detectives said Kolanovic swapped out one of her wet Adidas sneakers and sock with one of the victim’s new Adidas sneakers that was inside the Accord.

Kolanovic is seen on store surveillance video wearing the victim’s new sneaker and carrying one of the stolen Coach purses into the store where she removes the victim’s wallet and uses one of the stolen credit cards to make a purchase, according to to arrest reports.

Deputies located Kolanovic, who is homeless, Monday and arrested her. When deputies took her into custody, Kolanovic was wearing a fanny pack with more stolen credit cards, ammunition, the deadly opioid fentanyl, and narcotic paraphernalia.

Kolanovic is a registered convicted felon in Collier County.
