Game 3: Carolina Hurricanes Vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Tonight At 8 PM

TAMPA, Fla. – The defending Stanley Cup champions, Tampa Bay Lightning, have taken the next major step in their hopes for a repeat Stanley Cup.

Tampa went on the road and to take both games from the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, they return home tonight and have the opportunity to end Carolina’s season.

The Carolina Hurricanes will meet the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoff series from Amalie Arena tonight at 8 pm.

The Hurricanes are looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss in Game 2 of the series and need to win.

If the Lightning are able to win at home tonight, they can take a 3-0 lead in the series before game four at home on Saturday.

Tonight is expected to be another close game between these two teams.

Lightning defenseman David Savard appeared during the practice ahead of Game 2, but didn’t dress for the game, being replaced by Luke Schenn. Head coach Jon Cooper said Savard is expected to return during the series.

The Hurricanes have some players that are questionable to play in tonight’s game. As of Wednesday, Vincent Trocheck was being evaluated, after he left the game because of a collision with his teammate Warren Foegele on Tuesday.

Hurricanes head coach Brind’Amour told reporters, “It doesn’t look good.”

Also, Hurricanes Nino Niederreiter didn’t travel to Tampa with the team and is not expected for the remainder of the series.

Tonights game will air at 8 pm on USA and can be streamed free on fuboTV
